Problem Note 35288: DB2 GRAPHIC data-type values are padded with zeros when the values are inserted into DB2 using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to DB2
When you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to DB2 to insert DB2 GRAPHIC data-type values into DB2, the values are padded with zeros.
As a workaround, you can use the explicit pass-through, as shown in the following example, to remove all of the 0 values for that column, assuming that none of the real values in that field contain character zeros (0)as part of a name:
proc sql;
connect to db2 ( ...connection options...)
execute (update mmrauctionregions
set auctionname = replace ( auctionname, '0', '') by db2;
disconnect from db2;
quit;
This code removes all of the 0 values from that column. However, if any of your data values contain 0 as part of the name, this workaround will not work.
This issue is resolved in SAS® 9.2.
